‘Attention, Earth People’ is a series of images I created between November 2024 and February 2025. I drew inspiration from an older Circa Survive song called ‘Imaginary Enemy’ and ran with the concept of an invisible energy haunting you. This led me to create the first image in the series: ‘Imaginary Enemy.’ The image visualizes our perception of the unknown in an abstract way. When your vision isn’t tainted by other people’s emotions and opinions, and you look only inward, how do you approach something you don’t fully understand?
Shortly after, I began working on the second image, unable to let the story go. The small, alien-shaped TV—featured in all the pictures—became the central element of the series. What if this little TV could actually be a portal to a supernatural, burning new world? My philosophical approach turned into a wilder, sci-fi concept, and ‘Burn, Focus with a Thirst Unnatural’ was born.
But then what? We’ve looked within ourselves, we’ve invited a haunting energy—what comes next? The truth is, I didn’t want to know. So, I created an image that hints at multiple possible outcomes. ‘Make Me Talk!’ is the only image taken during the day. It’s a coordinated dance of shadow and light.
Have the dancing people escaped—off to a better world? Are we already there? Or have they been taken, their shadows giving it all away? I suppose we’ll never know.
All these pictures were taken in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. If you want, you can purchase the series in my shop.
In addition to the first three images being printed for an exhibition at Eindhoven Central Station, I shot a short promotional video.
